Graffiti artists are taking to the streets of Liverpool to campaign for an end to hate crime.

Young people from The Anthony Walker Foundation (AWF) Ambassadors will deliver their street art racial harmony project, 'Don't just say it, spray it', on Saturday.

Between 11am and 6pm, graffiti artists from Leeds, Manchester, Halifax and Salford will join the Ambassadors in spray painting Church Street with murals containing anti-racist images and slogans.

AWF Mentor and project co-ordinator Catherine Millan said: "I think this is a great project.

"We are really getting people involved and spreading the message that Hate crime is not acceptable"

The Anthony Walker Foundation was founded in 2005 after the racially motivated murder of Huyton teenager Anthony Walker.

The Ambassadors are made up of passionate young people from across Merseyside who aim to eradicate racism in their local and wider communities through and promote the values of the AWF through public speaking.

Saturday's graffiti event precedes the Anthony Walker Foundation Festival, which takes place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July at Sefton Park.
