Fifty years after their first public gig every Beatles album will be played live, in order and in one day as part of the Mathew Street Festival 2010.
This will be a world first to celebrate the group's golden anniversary, with two stages performing early and late music from the legendary Liverpool group's thirteen albums.
Three hundred thousand are expected to experience Europe's largest free annual music festival between Saturday August 28th and bank holiday Monday August 30th, which also aims to strengthen Liverpool's bid to be the UK's first UNESCO City of Music.
Liverpool City Council spokesman Mike Doran said: "To qualify for the award, we must demonstrate how Liverpool would use the title to celebrate music in all forms and the Mathew Street Festival ticks this box big time.
"It celebrates what made our city world famous musically, as well as music from around the world. It is part of a series of Liverpool festivals, from Africa Oye to classical festivals."
This year marks the festival's 18th anniversary and organisers promise over 80 hours of live music across seven themed stages, with bands performing classic and modern music from across the world.
They will include a Live Aid 25th anniversary stage with a performance from The Boomtown Rats (minus singer Geldof) and a MOBO 15th birthday stage, with the awards held in Liverpool this October.
Other guest appearances include former Jam bassist Bruce Foxton on the Modfest stage, Merseybeat performer Billy J. Kramer on the M62 stage and retired Bay City Roller Eric Faulkner on the 70s stage, among others.
On themed stages Mike Doran added: "In many of the years before this there were no themes and the festival was more of a tribute to rock and pop.
"Our new themes will introduce new bands, who have never played before and will bring the crowds new music, keeping Mathew Street fresh."
Outdoors performances will show musicians from 11am until 6pm, with indoor venues lasting from 12 o'clock noon until the early hours.
The Mathew Street Fringe, now in its third year, has been expanded to last three days and over 40 indoor locations will host a hundred of Liverpool's newest and finest bands in concert.
