A battle tank will be one of the attractions at this year's Liverpool Pageant of Power.

The Challenger 2 - used by the British army - is joining motorbikes, power boats, helicopters and rally cars at the Strand on May 25, from 7pm.

Racing heroes Charlie Williams and Neil Tuxworth are on the bill, while pageant entries include Le Mans winning Jaguar and Bentley cars.

Event organiser James Hall said: "This is an evening that Liverpool is unlikely to forget! I guarantee that this will be one of the most spectacular events that even this great city has promoted. I can't wait for the action to start."

As part of the fun a week-long series of events will be held at Liverpool ONE. Facilities for children include a climbing wall, flight simulators, Aprilla bikes and a paintball range.

These run from May 22-29. The LPOP is a preview of the Cholmendeley Pageant of Power, which takes place on July 17 and 18 in Cheshire.
