Comedy festival favourite Daniel Kitson is set to return to the Everyman with his latest storytelling show.
Popular among Liverpool and Edinburgh Comedy Festival audiences, the comedian returns with 66a Church Road, a reminiscent account of an enduring love affair with his old flat.
Kitson explained: “Last September I had to move out of my flat after living there for almost six years. I didn’t want to. I lived alone. I am single. 66a Church Road was the longest relationship of my life. This is a break up show. For my flat.” - May 2008.
Last in Liverpool for his sell out performance of stand up show We Are Gathered Here at the Playhouse, the Yorkshire-born performer's new show delivers a funny, sad and truly nostalgic story of a forsaken flat, a broken heart and the ache for home.
Kitson has been a hit act at the Edinburgh comedy festival since his first show at the event in 2001 when he was nominated for the Perrier Award for his show Love, Innocence and the Word Cock.
He went on to win the prestigious award the following year with his show Something and also received the Stage Award for best solo performance 2006 for C-90.
Since his early career Kitson has created a number of story shows alongside his stand-up routine, Stories of the Wobbly-hearted, C-90 and The Interminable Suicide of Gregory Church have all won Fringe First Awards, winning acclaim from critics and audiences.
Having just returned from Australia, performing at the Sydney Opera house in front of packed audiences, he will perform at various theatres across the UK from April, ending with 12 dates in London.
The event is part of Liverpool Comedy Festival and runs from Thursday May 6 to Saturday May 8.
Tickets are £12 and available at the box office or online.
