St Luke’s Church in West Derby is to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a special service.
On Sunday 11th April at 10.15 am, Rev Andrew Stott will lead the service which will also be attended by some former clergy (and spouses) who have served at the parish over the years.
Canon John Taylor, Area Dean for Huyton, will be preaching and presiding at communion and 50 balloons will be released at the end of the service by the children of the church, one balloon for each year.
It will be followed by a celebratory lunch for all who have attended the service.
Rev Andrew Stott said, “We want as many people as possible to come to this service – anyone who has had a connection with St Luke’s over the past fifty years is welcome to come along.
"St Luke’s has a fantastic history of being at the heart of the community, and I am sure that the anniversary celebrations will reflect this.
"We look forward to welcoming representatives of St Luke’s from the past, present and future.”
The balloons will be released between 11.45 and 12 noon on Sunday 11th April.
