Amateur singers are being offered the chance to sing under the direction of experts at Liverpool Cathedral later this month.
Come and Sing Stainer’s Crucifixion is an event designed to give amateurs the opportunity to perform under the direction of experienced conductors and musicians at venues where local choirs would not normally have access.
Singers will be under the direction of David Poulter, the Cathedral’s Music Director, and the organist will be Ian Tracey.
David Poulter said, “Stainer’s Crucifixion is a much loved work which is performed by countless church choirs up and down the country. It is a beautiful piece and many people find it very helpful as part of their preparation for Holy Week and Easter.”
Participating choirs can download a music guide from the Cathedral website to help them prepare for the event, which will be held on Saturday 20th March.
There will be a rehearsal at 6pm before the actual performance at 8pm.
To take part, please visit the cathedral website for an application form and music guide. Cost £5 per singer on registration and £5 per audience member. For further details please contact David Poulter on 0151 702 7240 or see www.liverpoolcathedral.org.uk
