A fundraising group which formed in the days following the Haiti earthquake is hosting a series of fundraising events in the city in aid of the many victims of the catastrophic natural disaster.

LIVERPOOLHELPHAITI is officially backed by UNICEF and has already held the first of three events planned for over the following months.

The LOVE HAITI Valentine’s Dinner Dance, was held on Saturday 13th February at Crawford House and was a huge success raising over £1500 to kick start the fundraising.

HEAL HAITI - A Fun Family Pampering Day and LIVERPOOLHELPHAITI – the finale concert featuring local performers, acts, bands and DJ’s are set to take place in the coming months with all profits raised being donated to UNICEF’s Haiti Earthquake Children’s Appeal.

LIVERPOOLHELPHAITI are also supporting ‘Light the World’ Youth Music event – an over 14’s musical evening organised by local teenagers.

LIVERPOOLHELPHAITI was initially set up as a group on Facebook by Stephen Nze with a hope of encouraging and raising support and money for the children of Haiti.

After inviting friends and associates, Stephen was soon overwhelmed by the response of people both within and outside Liverpool quickly signing up to the group and offering to help in any way possible.

Stephen Nze commented, “I was blown away by the response to the Facebook group which is still growing. The first event, LOVE HAITI was brilliant and it was great to see everybody come together for this very worthy cause. All our events will be fun and hopefully we can continue to raise lots of money People can still join and get involved via Facebook or by email or calling us.”

The Light the World Youth Music Event will be held on 26th February at The Picket, Liverpool. Tickets available at www.ticketline.co.uk/venue/liverpool-new-picket

HEAL HAITI at the Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre takes place Saturday 20th March - a day for all ages where families can drop in for pampering treatments including massage treatments,
reiki, ladies’ nail treatments, male grooming and barber service, facials and make up sessions.

There will be Family Activities throughout the day and a Bingo Social Event in the evening
