A concert to raise funds for the Help for Heroes charity is being held later this month, and Liverpool's Lord Mayor will be in attendance.
Councillor Mike Storey has urged the public to show their support for our soldiers by attending the concert at Liverpool Philarmonic Hall.
Cllr Storey said: "We recently held a Help for Heroes exhibition at Liverpool Town Hall and I'm a big supporter of our extremely brave soldiers and the very difficult role they undertake.
"I'm really proud of them and it would be great if on this occasion the city could show them just how much we appreciate the difficult role they do."
The event will take place on Saturday 30th January from 7pm and will feature performances from a whole host of talented acts.
The Kings Division military band, Sense of Sound Choir will be performing. Last year's Britain's Last Choir Standing finalists will be joined by Liverpool singer and songwriter, Laura Critchley.
Laura recently went to Iraq to sing for the troops and is acclaimed as the city's modern-day Vera Lynn.
There will also be performances from The Mersey Beatles tribute band, MD Productions and the Liverpool Scottish Pipes and Drums.
Last year's Britain's Got Talent semi-finalists, Kensington Dance Troupe round off the list of big names that will be entertaining at the event.
Cllr Storey added: "The concert will be really spectacular, and I hope that we can sell all of the 1,500 seats which will then hopefully raise over £30,000 for Help for Heroes."
Tickets cost £20 or £15 and can be obtained from the Liverpool Philarmonic box office on 0151 709 3789 or by visiting www.liverpoolphil.com
