Highlights of a walk-through Narnia experience that attracted more than 3000 visitors to the Old Christ Church in Waterloo are to be released on a special DVD on 17th January.

More than 30 local schools and a thousand members of the public attended The free ‘Narnia Experience’ in November and December, which was run by local churches, Ykids and New Directions, in partnership with In Another Place, which specialises in presenting the Christian message in an accessible way.

The Narnia Experience became one of the top attractions in Waterloo this Christmas. Visitors met Mr Tumnus and the White Witch and encountered a 40-tree forest, an icy waterfall, two castles, Mr Tumnus’ house, the beaver’s lodge, snow and statues.

The DVD launch will include a special preview for the 150-plus volunteers who helped put together the Narnia Experience, which helped visitors explore themes such as love, loyalty, choices, and friendship, and how they can use their own talents and gifts.

Annie Spiers, of Another Place, said: “The Narnia Experience brought more than 3000 visitors from all over Merseyside into the Old Christ Church Waterloo in just three weeks.

"We were astounded by the popularity and positive feedback - the only shame was that we didn't have space for more people, and some were turned away.

"This DVD is a great chance for those who couldn't attend the actual event to get an idea of what it was like, and we hope that it may inspire others to run similar projects.

"It is also a great chance for our volunteers to see how their hard work paid off.”

DVDs will be available for £10 each at the launch on January 17th at Sacred Heart Catholic College lower site (main hall).
