The DVD version of Merseyside-produced movie Awaydays has stormed the sales charts. Clocking in as a new entry at Number 3 it was the second best-selling new release.
Centreing on a gang of football fans from the Wirral the indie-film garnered critical acclaim from some industry quarters when released in the summer.
After a stint on the nation's big screens in May the budget movie hit high street stores last week on DVD and Blu-Ray.
It was the week's second best-selling new release, only eclipsed by the mega-budget romantic comedy The Ghosts Of Girlfriends past which took the number 2 spot behind Dan Brown's Angels & Demons.
Awaydays Producer, Dave Hughes of Red Union Films said:
"We're over the moon. For a tiny, locally-made independent film to be punching its weight next to the giants of Hollywood is nothing short of miraculous."
Red Union are currently shooting their next film, Powder, which will premiere next autumn.
