Forty years after the release of Ken Loach's celebrated 1969 film, "Kes" makes a welcome return to the stage at Liverpool's Playhouse theatre from September 18th.
Starring Daniel Casey (Midsommer Murders), Katherine Dow Blyton (Hollyoaks) and Oliver Farnworth (Hollyoaks), this latest adaptation of Barry Hines bittersweet novel "A Kestrel for a Knave" retains all the original charm and spirit which has made "Kes" a much-loved tale.
Acclaimed Director Nikolai Foster promises to bring the play to life, using Lawrence Till's popular stage adaptation, and enlisting the help of four local schools who will fill the desks in Billy Casper's 1960's classroom.
"Kes" runs at the Liverpool Playhouse from September 18th to October 10th, before embarking on a nationwide tour.
