King of comedy Peter Kay has announced that he wants to give Susan Boyle a run for her money as he provides the voice for Big Christine, who loves singing in kids favourite Roary the Racing Car.

Peter hits the small screen on Five's Milkshake! and Nick Jr from August as the voice of the animated northern lass in the BAFTA nominated hit pre-school series.

Big Christine, is an hilarious karaoke fanatic, and the mother of Big Chris, also voiced by Kay.

The first episode, ‘Let’s Hear It For Big Chris’ sees the two characters performing together on stage in an original musical melody called, ‘My Lovely Mum’!

The new episodes also feature two other original characters - James, a classic Aston Martin inspired ‘chauffeur’ car and Loada, a huge transporter lorry from Eastern Europe.

Roary the Racing Car, also starring the voice of Sir Stirling Moss as the narrator, is consistently ranked as one of Five’s Milkshake! and Nick Jr’s top performing shows with viewers tuning in daily to watch their favourite four wheeled friend.

In 2008, Roary was the fastest growing pre-school boys brand in the UK and the show has now sold to over 110 countries worldwide with race fever gripping the imagination of boys and girls globally.

Guys, guys. It's NOTHING to do with Susan Boyle. Peter Kay is (doubtless jokingly) challenging her to a virtual vocal head-to-head.

It would be nice if all these offers are still there after Susan has done with her debut album.
