Red Dwarf star Craig Charles has spoken out to say that the cast are feeling immense 'pressure' to pull off the TV comeback of the decade.
The resurection of the best-loved BBC sci-fi show ever by digital channel Dave TV has sparked massive worldwide interest and fever pitch anticipation.
And as each new plotline clue and video teaser is released on the Dave website, the cast are starting to feel the weight of expectation from the cult comedy's fans.
Speaking during a break in filming the Back To Earth specials at Shepperton Studios Craig said: "I wondered hard if we're too fat and old and grey and past it?
"Can we recapture the magic?
"Can I feign interest as Chris talks me through the orgasmic delight of stripping down the engine of 1963 Bentley and putting it back together.
"Then there's Robert with his production company and his fingers in pies and his endless enthusiasm for new technology and his overbearing decency and puppydog niceness which makes you want to stroke him with a mallet.
"And then there's Danny. I decide that if he mentions any court cases, his or mine, the mallet's definitely coming out.
"We've left such a great legacy. Then I read the script and thought I've gotta have some of this.
"The pressure's on, this has got to be better than it ever was before.
"My son is 21, he was born during the second series, and he's mad about it."
Craig was arrested and remanded in custody for rape in 1994 but was acquitted during his trial in 1995.
Danny was found guilty of assault in 2008, relating to a dispute with two bin men and sentenced to community service but his conviction was also quashed on appeal.
In other exciting Dwarfer news... Red Bee Media have created an alternate reality game (ARG) that takes users on a treasure hunt to find the location of the crew's reunion.
The ARG starts at www.listerscominghome.co.uk - where fans uncover an online postcard from Dave Lister himself, explaining that there's been a problem, caused by mixing curry with the communication system.
As a result of Lister's error, the crew split up and are forced to communicate through the website of an unsuspecting individual.
Hidden clues and links slowly unravel the story that also includes a 'Cat Nav' tool, enabling users to find the location of the crew using a satellite location puzzle on Google Earth.
While playing the game, fans can register to receive e-mail updates containing exclusive content, including the crew's communications with each another. www.redbeemedia.com
