WHAT'S ON: Top flight darts at the Echo Arena.
Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld will clash on the opening night of the 2009 Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts in Liverpool.
The rematch of the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship will be played at the Echo Arena as the new Premier League Darts season begins on Thursday February 5.
Taylor, the defending Premier League Darts champion, claimed his 14th World Championship earlier in January with a 7-1 defeat of van Barneveld at Alexandra Palace.
"I can't wait to get going again," said Taylor. "It should be a real cracker because I love playing Raymond.
"He brings the best out in me and it's a great way to begin the Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts season."
The first of 14 league nights will also see new world number two James Wade take on three-time World Champion John Part, while newcomer Jelle Klaasen faces Terry Jenkins in a battle of "The Matador" and "The Bull".
Another Premier League debutant, Mervyn King, meets Wayne Mardle in the third game of the evening in Liverpool.
Taylor and van Barneveld will also meet in night eight at the NIA in Birmingham, while Taylor faces Wade in a repeat of the 2008 final in Belfast and Cardiff.
The first Premier League Darts visit to Edinburgh in week two will see Part meet van Barneveld, Mardle face Jenkins, Taylor meet Klaasen and Wade take on King.
Klaasen and Mardle, the two Wildcards for this year's Premier League, face off in week three in Coventry in their first league meeting.
All nights of the 2009 Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts will be screened live on Sky Sports and also in High Definition.
