The hilarious Agnes Brown, played by Irish comedian Brendan O'Carroll returns to Liverpool next February in the smash hit comedy play MRS BROWN'S LAST WEDDING, which visits the city's Empire Theatre for the first time.
Always a favourite with Liverpool audiences, Mrs Brown is a typical Dublin Mammy, whose hilarious adventures and witty insights have audiences howling for more.
In The Last Wedding we see our Agnes trying to plan her son Trevor's wedding to the posh Maria aided by her gay son and his lunatic hairdresser boyfriend. See a hen party, a stag party and a dinner party... with a difference.
And when Agnes tries to impress her son's prospective mother-in-law by installing a new downstairs toilet the audiences are in tears of laughter.
Brendan O’Carroll is Ireland's most successful comedian ever with film credits in The Van and Angela's Ashes, five best selling novels and five number 1 videos to his name. He has also written and directed four hit comedy plays.
MRS BROWN'S LAST WEDDING is based on Brendan's enormously popular radio character from RTE's 2FM and a film version Agnes Brown directed by and starring Anjelica Huston.
Tom Jones also starred in this film.
Brendan is delighted with the success of Mrs Brown's Last Wedding. He says: 'People have really taken Mrs Brown to their hearts. I think she reminds them of their own mammies... fierce and scary but full of love.'
