Five students from Liverpool are set to host a charity fashion show at local celeb haunt 'Newz' Bar.

The second year undergrads from Liverpool John Moores University were given the task to organise an event last September as part of their Events Mangement degree.

The 'Walking Tall' night on 22nd February will raise money for local charity Clatterbridge Cancer Research and feature collections from Bowtique, Pacha and Booty Junk.

Organiser Samantha Wade said: "We named the fashion show ‘Walking Tall’ because we thought it was appropriate for a fashion show, however in the context of the charity it symbolises confidence and bravery; walking tall if you have beaten cancer.

"Clatterbridge Cancer Research is a charity I personally support, so to have the opportunity to raise money whilst hosting a great fashion show is brilliant. We are really looking forward to it."

Samantha is joined on the team of organisers by Kyle Gibbons, Samantha Wilkinson, Kayleigh Prentice and Kayleigh Daffern.

Guests can expect a champagne reception, a show featuring professional models and a high value prize raffle.

Newz Bar manager James Hall has generously provided the venue free of charge and has also created a menu of drinks offers available on the night.

Samantha added: " Newz bar has given us the venue for free which is brilliant.

"James has been very helpful and gave us contacts for a stage and DJ, as well as providing the champagne for guests arrival."

Mereyside and Cheshire currently hold the worst Cancer mortality rates in the country. Clatterbridge Cancer Research aims to understand cancer, it's causes, incidents and treatments.

Tickets cost £5 each with all proceeds going towards the charity. To book tickets please email kaypreno@hotmail.com.
