In less than two weeks, former Savage Garden frontman Darren Hayes will open his UK tour at the Liverpool 02 Academy on 15th October.

Four years since Darren's last solo release "This Delicate Thing We've Made", the hunky singer is making welcome return to "mainstream pop" with the cryptive "Secret Codes and Battleships" (album to be released on October 17th).
Fans attending the Liverpool date will hear the sensational new tracks before anyone else, while Hayes will also serenade the crowd with signature ballads such as Truly Madly Deeply, I Knew I Loved You Before I Met You and Insatiable.
The infectiously catchy first single "Talk Talk Talk" saw Darren collaborate with famous producer Carl Falk (Nicole Sherzinger/The Wanted), mixed by Robert Orton (Lady GaGa) and mastered by Bob Ludwig (Madonna, Bowie, Paul McCartney) and is currently available on itunes.
With Liverpool being the first of four "intimate" gigs in the UK this month, Click Liverpool caught up with Darren to discuss what fans can expect of Secret Codes and Battleships.
Darren enthused: ""My need to experiment on previous projects means I might have lost a few fans along the way.
"I want to make sure this tour reaches anyone who might have disconnected from me in recent years.
"Liverpool is a great city, I've visited many times and love it.
"My gigs have been in Manchester in the past. But when we looked at statistics from the concert promoters, we saw that a lot of people from Liverpool were travelling to see the shows in Manchester and Birmingham.
"Plus, I'm doing a New Year's Eve show in Manchester, which I'm very excited about, so Liverpool was the perfect choice.
"It's going to be a small, intimate tour this time around.
"The staging is going to be a trial version of what a larger tour might be.
"There'll be design elements of course but it will be just about me, my career, performing a mix of songs and interacting with the crowd."
A decade since his split with former bandmate Daniel Jones, Darren revealed that "Secret Codes and Battleships" will be a record packed with inspirational ballads closer to Savage Garden's sound than any of his previous solo work.
The Brisbane-born singer added: "The tracks are not so much up tempo, although Talk Talk Talk is on the face of things, it's actually a serious song lyrically.
"If anything it's a very emotional album.
"There's a common link to the first album I did with Savage Garden.
"There's a song called Bloodstained Heart and it could hopefully speak to people as much as To the Moon and Back or even Truly Madly Deeply.
"It's touching that feeling of 'we're gonna get through this'."
