Sefton artists will have their work featured in The Best Of The Open Exhibitions at Liverpool Conservation Centre.

The Art Merseywide exhibition showcases a selection of the best artworks from the Open Exhibitions run in 2009 / 10 by the greater Merseyside Boroughs: Halton, Knowsley, St Helens, Sefton and Wirral plus the Liverpool Open 2010 held at the Editions Gallery.

The fifty-four artists selected from the Open exhibitions reflect the variety and breadth of work that is being produced throughout the five Merseyside boroughs.

The majority of these artists being semi-professional or talented amateurs who demonstrate the rich variety of styles and media which is the main characteristic and strength of the Open exhibition format.

The exhibition does not aim to illustrate all that Sefton artists have to offer, but it does give a candid snapshot of the thriving local art scene.

It is the work made, seen and appreciated by thousands of visitors to greater Merseyside's galleries and the small independent galleries of Liverpool.

The exhibition takes place from Friday 24th September 2010 - Sunday 27th March 2011 is free admission and is set to attract visitors from across the North West.

Thanks are due to National Museums Liverpool for supporting and hosting the exhibition and to each of the boroughs and the Editions Gallery who have supported this event and their gallery and arts development staff who have worked on its development.
