There's always a buzz around UK comedy in August as the Edinburgh Fringe hosts hundreds of live comedy acts, but here in Liverpool comedy lovers will not be starved of mirth.
This month The Laughterhouse have some amazing acts lined up for their two stages at The Slaughterhouse and Lenny’s Bar and Smoke Grill.
Highlights for this month include; Daliso Chaponda's fine mixture of “Malawi-style storytelling, British cynicism, and distinctly Canadian self-victimization”. Sony-award winner and Mock of the Week regular Milton Jones, former North West Comedian of the Year Steve Harris, Ninja Benjamin, Jonathan Mayor, genial Irishman Caimh McDonnel, Steve Royle and many more.
Resident MCs Chris Cairns, Ste Porter, Keith Carter and Neil Fitzmaurice will host the shows and introduce a surprise guest comedian every night.
Fridays at the Slaughterhouse are a steal with tickets priced between £7 (NUS) £11 (Live comedy only) to £27 for Live Comedy and Meal Deal option, and £14 for comedy only on Saturday nights.
At Lenny’s Bar and Smoke Grill you can enjoy a Comedy and Summer Special Meal Deal at £19 while on Saturday you can enjoy the show for £14 or enjoy a delicious dinner from Lenny’s restaurant beforehand with the £30 Meal Deal.
Shows sell-out fast so book tickets early to avoid disappointment - a lucky few can grab a handful of tickets made available on the door each evening. All shows start prompt at 8.00pm.
