Liverpool Sound City gig guide day three

The biggest night of Sound City's festivities has arrived and headliners White Lies, who played an eclectic Dj set at our Click Liverpool launch party, will be playing a sell out gig with their unique melancholy narrative at the 02 Academy.

Meanwhile at the same time Blackpool pop sensation Little Boots plays the Academy 2 with support from Liverpool electro upstarts Soft Toy Emergency.

A tribute to Heswall-born Radio One legend John Peel brings the best emerging homegrown bands into the spotlight with The Drellas and The Hot Melts taking to the stage at Studio, Hardman St.

Also, if you've still got the energy after two nights on the tiles, it's well worth a hike-up Mount Pleasant to see Patrick Wolf at Liverpool University.
