Gloria Estefan coming to Liverpool

Gloria Estefan is the latest act to be confirmed for this years Summer Pops festival.

The pop superstar, who has sold over 70 million records worldwide,will perform amongst a host of massive names including Simply Red, Ne-Yo and Leonard Cohen.

Speaking after the announcement, Gloria said: "I'm really looking forward to coming to such a musical city like Liverpool."

*Gloria first made her big break as part of hit band Miami Sound Machine in the 1980's

The groups second album, Primitive Love, spawned three top ten hits and propelled the singer into the spotlight.

Gloria became a solo artist in 1988, securing a number one album in the UK with Anything For You.

The 51-year-old will play the Liverpool Echo Arena on Monday 27th July 2009 and tickets go on sale midday on Friday 8th May 2009.
