Folk fans are in for a treat as the award winning Cara Dillon is to perform at Crosby Civic Hall on Thursday 24th June.

The combination of Cara's beautiful voice and musical collaborator Sam Lakeman's rippling piano and fresh production squeeze new life into ancient material.

As torch bearers for both traditional and original song-writing, husband and wife team, Cara and Sam manage still to create a distinctive musical identity of their own.

Whether she's singing her native songs of lost love and emigration, or their original compositions, you will be hard pressed to find a more emotive and captivating performer.

Cara has been described by Q Magazine as having "Quite possibly the world's most beautiful female voice". Whilst her 4th CD, Hill of Thieves, recently won the 2010 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 'Album Of The Year'.

Cara Dillon is at the very top of her field and she is set to be there for a very long time!
