Darwin Deez, one of the hottest tips on everyone’s lips for 2010, land in Liverpool straight outta NYC on May 7th at The Masque.

By now you would probably have heard his debut single "Constellations", complete with handclaps and his opening crib of "Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star".

Come April 12, when his debut, self-titled album drops, there will be many, many more songs to treasure. All of which he wrote and recorded entirely on his own, in his apartment, on one mike on his PC.

Darwin Deez’s live shows are extravaganzas of unbridled energy and unfettered joy, each and every one of them; with him being known to break into spontaneous bouts of synchronised dancing mid-song.

On the 10th May The Masque welcomes The Slits, the band formed in 1976 and quickly established themselves at the forefront of British punk bands.

Having relentlessly toured throughout their career The Slits have also supported such influential acts as The Clash and Sonic Youth. All this as well as setting the standard for future generations of feisty female musicians.

By the time of their debut album The Slits sound had fused a raucous mixture of reggae rhythms, scratchy guitars, anger and mischief into one breath taking bundle of angst. Don't miss out on catching this ledgendary punk act live.

Warrington band Exile Parade hit The Masque on 14th May just as they finish their debut album in May at Motor Musuem Studios, Liverpool.

It will include tracks produced by Owen Morris (Oasis/The Verve/The View) and will be released worldwide later in the year through various Indie labels.

They were discovered after Morris heard the band's early demos on myspace and called former Oasis guitarist Paul Arthurs who had played the demos on his BBC Manchester Music show. Arthurs and Morris then went to see the band play live and the rest, as they say, is history.

Before they head into the studio and play The Masque the band will be playing to over 70,000 people live and a TV audience of 150million when they play the main stage at the Zebra Music Festival in Chengdu, China on May 3. The band were invited to play the festival after building a strong online fanbase through Chinese social media site Douban.

Marina and the Diamonds will dazzle The Masque on 25th May, with her musical style that ranges from keyboard-based ballads to more up-tempo new wave-style songs.

Marina rose to fame after reaching number two on the BBC sound of 2010 poll list, coming second only to Ellie Goulding. Now signed to 679 recordings , Marina and the Diamonds released her debut full-length studio album, The Family Jewels in early 2010.

Having played many of 2009's top festivals including BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Swindon, Glastonbury Festival, Latitude, Reading & Leeds and other European festivals, Marina and the Diamonds look set to storm the Masque this May.

On the 27th May The Masque plays host to the highly influential rap group the Sugarhill Gang.

Coming from the Bronx in New York City in 1979, the Sugarhill Gang jumped over the metaphorical walls of the inner city and into the realm of the mainstream with the first worldwide rap hit, "Rapper's Delight" in 1979.

Although rap and hip-hop music had existed for quite a few years prior to the Sugarhill Gang's rise to fame, it had failed to move out of the areas heavily populated by black families in the 1960's and 1970's.

Disputed by some, the Sugarhill Gang is still believed by many to be the first professional rap group because they brought this "new" style of music to the mainstream.
