The third annual BEATLES DAY, which takes place on Saturday 10th July 2010, is going global!

For 2010, Beatles Day events will simultaneously be held, not only in Liverpool, but in Hamburg, New York, Shanghai, Sydney, and Moscow, with more cities set to sign up.

Beatles Day organiser, and promoter of the Summer Pops, Chas Cole said:

“We’re delighted that cities around the world want to join us to celebrate the legacy of The Beatles. We’ll also be inviting performers from participating cities to Liverpool, to take part in our very own Beatles Day Concert.

“Over the last three years, Beatles Day has received huge interest internationally, so to go global is a natural progression for the event. It’s a fantastic fun day, raising money for some very worthy causes.”

BEATLES DAY – THE CONCERT will, once again, take place at Liverpool Echo Arena, as part of the Liverpool Summer Pops Festival, bringing Beatles Day to an amazing finish.

Actor/comedian Ricky Tomlinson will return to the Liverpool Echo Arena as honorary host of Beatles Day - The Concert. A full line-up for the concert is due to be announced in the coming weeks.

Plus, all Beatles fans should get ready to don their mop-tops in the name of charity, and visit the host of Beatles themed family fundraising events taking place throughout the city of Liverpool.

Beatles-style merchandise, including, mop-top wigs, t-shirts and badges will now be available worldwide and are being sold online at www.beatlesday.tv as well as through many retail stockists in the days leading up to Beatles Day. Over 20,000 mop-tops were worn for Beatles Day last year!

All proceeds from the annual Beatles Day event, including Beatles Day – The Concert, will go to The Beatles Day Foundation.

The foundation is a charitable trust that raises money for many worthy causes particularly those improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people.
