After nursing our month-long hangover, we have now gathered a moment of clarity to present our full Creamfields picture gallery and run down on what made this year's sell-out show the UK's biggest and best dance festival.

Cream chief James Barton said it was the fastest selling show they've had in nine years and the best since those heady days of founding the festival, before everybody with a field and a large tent thought they could hold one.

The new site layout was an outstanding success, it was easier to get around and see more of the musical talent on offer with the Mixmag Terrace only a short stroll from the mainstage. The Hed Kandi VIP area, boasting a swish Tri-span covered bar area, was also a great touch.

Creamfields second year offering camping also proved to calm the frantic nature of some revellers wanting to get as wasted as possible in one day and see all the DJs.

Gone are the days of having to step over a sea of mashed clubbers who've had one too many on the way and are left soul-searching into the stars with a face like a bemused Skelator.

The festival now has a better pace and attracts a cooler, more diverse crowd from across the world - certainly there were more people in fancy dress and daring outfits than previous years.

There was a minor drama over David Guetta's set when the crowd control had to halt proceedings for 20 mins after fans finished watching Tiesto on the main stage and headed over for the end of the One Love star's performance.

It was later admitted that two major DJ talents should have been put on head to head in a soundclash, which lead to one half of the audience marching over to the Cream tent from mainstage.

But James 'Crouching Tiger Hidden' Barton revealed he watched the situation unfold from under the decks and took a step back and let the Cream crowd control decide when David should go back on.

The Sexy Bitch star was genuinely upset to have to pull the plug and after chatting to the Creamfields CEO in his car went back on to finish a storming set, which he later declared was 'one of his best.'

Indie heroes Filthy Dukes tore up the mainstage mid-afternoon with their growing body of hits including Messages and Nonsense in the Dark.

Friendly Fires also gave a stellar performance, despite indulging in a mammoth 10-hour boozing bender after their press chats, and told the crowd they were delighted to 'see the dance kids into their music.'

Frontman Ed wins the unofficial 'best on stage dance' for his Kiss Of Life conductor-meets YMCA move.

DeadMau5 entertained his faithful following with a new Mau5 head, with a few home made tributes in the crowd singing along to I Remember, before making a dash in his private helicopter.

Mylo set the pace on the mainstage with a set and hyped visuals and brought in stunt specialists Purple Revolver to the first ever festival 'flagmobbing' with hundreds of St Andrew's flags being handed out to the eager crowds

The Scottish flags flew again during chart-topper Calvin Harris' Ready For The Weekend anthem
before he made a second appearance with Bonkers rapper Dizzee Rascal, much to the audience's delight.

But the Creamfields show-stealing set honour has to go to 2ManyDJs for their musical oddyssey and breathtaking visuals, taking the crowd on an educational journey through their all-time fave album covers.

A feast of visuals featuring iconic album covers, digitally vandalised in the best possible taste, to show Bryan Ferry giving a leggy blonde something to think about on the famous Roxy Music cover had the crowd smiling.

The highlight was watching a sea of revellers dancing through the rain singing along to Queen's hit Bicycle (breakdown with tingling bells) transfixed by images of thousands of naked cycling ladies as if it was one of this year's club anthems.

Just as the Gallagher brothers self implode in a rage of self-inflicted self pity and petty arguments, the Dewaele clan get better and tighter with age. Bring them back!

After hearing many people declare that this was the best Creamfields of recent memory, we can only agree and urge you to start getting ready for next year and get involved in the madness of Liverpool Music Week.
