Liverpool star Billy Fury's brother Albie Wycherley has died at the age of 68.

Albie, who had been in poor health for several years, lost his long battle with illness on Monday.

He fronted 60s band The Centremen and developed a highly-praised repertoire of Billy Fury material.

Their first record, Whatcha Gonna Do Baby, was released on Parlophone in 1965.

During early 1966, they made the follow-up, Singing The Blues, reached the top 30.

More recently he headlined a concert after the unveiling of the Billy Fury statue in Liverpool's Albert Dock in 2003.

He leaves a son and two grandchildren.
