Ben Montague and Leddra Chapman to play Liverpool's O2 Academy

Young Brit singer songwriters Leddra Chapman and Ben Montague bring their UK tour to Liverpool next month, continuing their fine creative relationship on the joint-headline tour, playing to thousands of people across the country.

For Leddra, this comes after a great period of sustained activity. Her latest single, Edie, has become a live favourite with her ever-growing legion of fans.

The song has also proved popular at BBC Radio 2, where it has been playlisted for 6 weeks and counting. This recent chapter in the young Brit’s blossoming career comes after years of hard work on Leddra’s part.

Sporting huge drive and confidence, Leddra wrote her first song aged 12 and began playing gigs soon after. She divided her time between completing her education, writing songs, teaching herself piano and also learned to produce her own demos from home.

This dedication to her studies has prevailed and she currently juggles her career as a singer songwriter with a music degree at the London College of Music.

Leddra recorded her debut album Telling Tales with top international producer Peter-John Vettese (Sia, Gary Go) at his studio in 2009. The album is a collection of ten folk-pop songs on which Leddra's pure voice and beautiful instrumentation work together to paint vivid pictures.

Her debut single Story created real excitement at the end of 2009, being play-listed for 7 consecutive weeks on Radio 2 after it was championed by Sir Terry Wogan. This success was followed by Summer Song, which also was B-Listed at BBC Radio 2.

Leddra has also performed her beautifully crafted songs live on Radio 2 in session with Janice Long, Aled Jones and recently with Johnnie Walker, and television audiences across the UK were introduced to Leddra when she performed Story live on ITV's This Morning earlier this year.

Rising star Ben Montague was born in Farnborough, Kent in 1983. Son to a musical family, he threw himself into sporting life, growing up with a football at his feet, a tennis racket in one hand, and guitar in the other. Blessed with an acute sense of melody and a killer vocal, Ben had fierce ambitions to one day perform with stars as big as those in his old man's record collection (The Beatles, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Elton John.)

A mild dyslexic, his sporting and musical prowess helped him 'get on in school'. Music slowly but surely became his primary focus, and once his education was out of the way, Ben jumped into a van and toured around the UK. The dream began turning into reality when he was spotted performing in London and got the money needed to make his first EP featuring the track 'Haunted'. This song landed the coveted Record of the Week spot on BBC Radio 2. Things then really started to fall into place when follow up single 'Broken' hit Radio 2's A list for 6 weeks.

In recent times Ben has been working hard playing live and gathering new fans. He headlined The Isle of Wight Festival's acoustic stage, the Riverside Stage at Cornbury, and jetted out to Milan for F1 Rocks to support The Stereophonics. He arrives adrenalised and expectant of a huge 2011, fresh out of Rockfield Studio in Monmouth, Wales where he has just begun recording his second album with legendary producer Dave Eringa.
