The Chapman Family play The Masque this November

The Chapman Family play The Masque on Wednesday 10th November with The Loud and Competition Winners The Envy.

The Chapman Family are a group of four miserable northerners from Teesside, and have been playing together since May 2006.

They decided to create their own brand of intensely dark and noisy indie as they were tired of being bored and uninspired by the same old bands week in, week out. T

hey are as much inspired by folk as hardcore punk and their occasionally chaotic gigs can change from euphoric to the apocalypse in an instant.

Apart from building a ferocious cult following, the band played BBC Introducing Stage at the Glastonbury Festival and finished their set by continually swearing at the audience, smashing their guitars and jumping into the crowd. A good time was had by all.

Support comes from two local favourites The Loud, who cite Jesus and Mary Chain, The Velvet Underground and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club as influences and The Envy, a 4 peice alt rock band, whose sound has been described as ‘dark, yet melodic pedal based rock’.

The Envy were picked by The Chapman Family themselves as support for the show and as competition winners, they receive recording time in Binary Cell Studios as well as signed merch from our much loved headliner.

This is a great opportunity to see three great bands before they hit the big time!

Tickets are £6 if bought in advance from Ticketweb or 3Beat Records and £7 on the door.
