The Butterfly’s Ball and The Grasshopper’s Feast

The retro sound of the groovy, psychedelic 60’s comes back to Liverpool’s Static Gallery on Saturday 27th November in a senses-altering experience combining the ambient sounds of folk music infused with psychedelic temperance and a mind-bending light installation. The Butterfly’s Ball and The Grasshopper’s Feast is ideal for those wanting to relieve their folly of adolescence or those looking to expand their horizons.

The Butterfly’s Ball and The Grasshopper’s Feast – whose name is derived from William Roscoe’s 1802 poem – is an event inspired by the American West Coast psychedelic culture circa 1967-69 - fusing together folk music and transgressive art into one unforgettable experience. This celebration of alternative culture is the brainchild of Liverpool based group The Wicked Whispers, in partnership with independent retro-inspired label Electrone Records. The co-founders will make their return to Liverpool’s music scene for the first time since their auspicious debut performance at the Mathew Street Festival.

The band will be adeptly supported by 60’s psychedelic pioneer Arthur Brown, bringing his crazy world to the shores of Liverpool to funk out with Eva Brown and El Torro rounding out the supporting acts. The night will be compered by BBC Radio Merseyside’s DJ Dave Monks and Echo & The Bunnymen guitarist Will Sergeant will be spinning records in keeping with the retro vibe. Liverpool based audio/visual impresario’s Howard Be Thy Name will be providing the avant-garde visuals to compliment the experimental nature of the night.

The Butterflies Ball and The Grasshopper’s Feast’s takes place on Saturday 27th November for one night only. Tickets are £8.00 and available from Probe Records and www.seetickets.com

Is there any other way of getting the tickets in advance because I can't find them on See Tickets and we're travelling a long way.
