Local music fans will converge on Liverpool's Williamson Tunnels next Friday night (6th August) as the tourist labyrinth-cum-venue plays host to burgeoning 'scally pop' band Shellsuit.

The evening is being put on by local music promoters Harvest Sun who are building quite a reputation following several successfully organised concerts across the city.

Headlining act Shellsuit are creating something of a stir amongst the music press after bubbling under the MySpace-surface for several years.

This will be only their second ever Liverpool gig after debuting at the Zanzibar two years ago.

Music mag NME proclaimed earlier this year "no wonder music at the moment seems becalmed. Shellsuit have all the best tunes" and their album Walton Prison Blues, a raw mix of political realism and working class musings, attracted similar acclaim from critics and music fans alike.

The band are stalwarts of the BBC's recently saved indie radio station 6music.

The evening's support comes from former Benny Profane front man Dave Jackson who will be joined on stage by his old band mates from The Dead Cowboys and Professor Yaffle.

Tickets, priced at £8 each are available from Probe Records on Slater Street or from the links below.
