Liverpool super WAG Coleen Rooney shuns a twelve hour trip to South Africa for a flutter on the horses with friends and family.

The Wife of England striker Wayne Rooney looked a vision in violet, as she arrived at Chester Racecourse for Ladies Day without seven month old baby Kai.

As Fabio Capello's men prepare for England's vital World Cup clash against Germany, Coleen has decided not to fly to South Africa, opting instead for a day at the races.

The TV host of 'Real Women' arrived chauffeur driven, wearing an amethyst satin mini dress with oversized bow detail, diamond jewellery and matching purple high heels.

With her hair teased into a full, backcombed bun, the 24-year-old fashionista looked more like iconic Hollywood movie legend Audrey Hepbern.

Coleen's entourage watched the exciting seven race meeting from a private box in the County Stand, which saw her 6/1 horse 'Opus Maximus' win!

Also attending the glamourous event were Hollyoaks soap stars; Jorgie Porter, Kieran Richardson, Bronagh Waugh, boxing champion Ricky Hatton and injured England striker Michael Owen.

One onlooker said: 'Coleen looked lovely, she really suited the purple.

'She's a classy filly enjoying herself while Wayne's away at the World Cup. Hope the winning streak continues for Coleen and for England.'

While Mrs Rooney made most of the sunshine in Chester, fellow World Cup WAG's Christine Bleakley and Toni Poole have flown to Cape Town to support their respective partners Frank Lampard and John Terry.

They have been joined in the England camp by; Capello's own wife Laura Ghisi , Emile Heskey's fiancée Chantelle Tagoe, Matthew Upson's girlfriend Ellie Darby and defender Glen Johnson's wife Laura.

Alex Curran, the wife of captain Steven Gerrard, has opted to stay in the UK untill England reach the semi-finals in the African nation.
