Lady Gaga says Beyoncé Knowles is "an angel"

Lady Gaga has praised Beyoncé as "smart and courageous" after the pair collaborated on Gaga’s song Telephone.

The two singers shot a promo which is over nine minutes long. The video is already being compared to Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and Gaga was thrilled with the way Beyoncé was prepared to do anything when making it.

Gaga said: “She’s an angel. She is so sweet, courageous and very smart."

"She was pretty cool about the video, actually.

"Beyoncé is a superstar in her own right. She may have her own particular aesthetic that she is married to and that her fans love, but she was excited to explore a way to kind of free herself in my video."

In the promo, Gaga is seen performing a risqué dance routine in prison. Beyoncé comes to pick her up when she is released, and the pair drive to a diner where they poison the customers.

Gaga is adamant starring in the video was the right more for Beyoncé, and thinks it will transform her career.

She added: “She was really excited to be doing new things.

"I think it’s going to be interesting to see what she does next, because now that she’s done this kind of video she can do anything she wants."
