Staunch vegetarian Sir Paul McCartney told a chef to "stick it" after he was served meat during a romantic dinner with his new girlfriend Nancy Shevell.
The 66-year-old former Beatle was dining at New York hot spot Nick & Toni's restaurant, when the chef sent out a meat based "amuse bouche" to an unamused Macca.
According to a fellow diner at the restaurant Sir Paul told the waiter: "You can tell the chef to stick it ... but don't tell him I said that!"
Sir Paul, who reportedly even refuses to wear leather shoes, will no doubt be hoping his passion for vegetarianism rubs off on 47-year-old meat eater Shevell, who is said to possess an extensive collection of crocodile handbags.
