The wife of Liverpool footballer Steven Gerrard was spotted sporting her new uber-chic trendy threads during a quick pampering session at the hairdressers.
Dressed in skin-tight designer jeans, studded high heels, cream top and her black high shouldered jacket, the 26-year-old braved the cold weather in her 1980's inspired outfit.
Many celebrities have already jumped on the shoulder-pad bandwagon, with some of the most fashion-forward even taking their height to lengths to dramatic levels.
Fellow WAG Victoria Beckham uses the high shoulder pads to accentuate her slender frame for power dressing, while American singer Rihanna uses them for style and boldness in her new pop videos.
More recently pop sensation Lady GaGa has been spotted wearing the high padded angular shoulders during some of her worldwide live shows.
But the history of the humble shoulder pad actually dates back to the 1930s, when designer Elsa Schiaparelli used them in her fashion collections.
In 1932, Hollywood movie star Joan Crawford popularized the look when she sported shoulder pads in the film Letty Lynton.
Clearly catching on, top fashion houses like: Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy and Dolce & Gabbana have gone for big shoulders for their latest collections.
The power dressed Scouse lovely has obviously taken in some top fashion tips from the London catwalk shows, which she regulary attends.
One onlooker said:
"Alex looks fantastic! Whatever she wears, she seems to carry it off so well.
Not everyone could wear such a look, except someone like Lady GaGa. It's looks a bit mad, but it will probably catch on."
