Paparazzi superstar Lady Gaga is set to "finally get a real job", when she tries her hand on the other side of the camera as creative director of photography giants Polaroid.
The controversial "Poker Face" pop sensation, who scooped a host of awards last year, has been snapped up by the company to design a new range of imaging products.
The feisty singer will adopt the title "Creative Director and Inventor of Speciality Products", and is working on a top secret range of gadgets which will hit the shelves in 2010.
The 23-year-old style icon said: "I am so excited to extend myself behind the scenes as a designer, and as my father puts it, finally have a real job.
"The Haus of Gaga has been developing prototypes in the vein of fashion/technology /photography, blending the iconic history of Polaroid and instant film with the digital era."
Gaga's shock appointment was unveiled by Polaroid on Thursday, at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show.
Her range of imaging gizmos will hit the highstreet late this year, and are already being tipped as one of the Christmas must-buys of 2010.
