Alex Curran - wife of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard - has sparked anger in the city after she described its nightclub scene as 'rough.'
Blonde Alex, 26, who was once a permanent fixture on the Scouse social scene says she no longer goes out in the city because the nightspots 'attract the wrong type of people'.
And the mother-of-two confessed since she became a well known WAG her nights out 'Aren't the same any more.'
In a magazine interview Alex said: "It's not the same any more. To be honest, it's rough.
"Everywhere new that opens attracts the wrong type of people.
"It's not nice, so I haven't bothered to go out."
But the Alex's comments have left her fellow Scousers reeling and highlight the fact that the pretty WAG was once involved in an assault investigation herself, for attacking a girl on a night out.
One angry Liverpudlian said: "Alex's comments are a bit like the pot calling the kettle black.
"Let's not forget it wasn't that long ago that Alex was arressted for attacking a young girl with a bottle.
"And her husband Stevie was shown punching someone's lights out in a bar only last week.
"They are hardly Mr and Mrs Perfect.
"Alex has got too big for her boots, she should remember her roots and where she came from, instead of calling her home town rough."
