Family Fortunes host Vernon Kay has told how his glamourous mum was asked out by all four Beatles when they played a concert in Bolton, but she turned them down.
Radio One jock Vernon said his stunning mum Gladys, 63, was asked out by each of the Mop tops in turn but spurned their advances because she was dating Vernon's dad, a lorry driver.
Vern, 35, revealed he not only has to defend gorgeous wife Tess Daly from admirers, but also has to fight off showbiz types making a play for his mum when they go out.
He said: "My mum was a proper catch in her day.
"The Beatles played two gigs in Bolton and she got asked out by all four of them. They all went after her one after another, which must have been quite a headturner.
"But she turned them down because she was with my dad.
"She likes to be true to herself and her roots - she grew up in a council house in a stereotypical area of Bolton.
"Whenever she comes to London, she always says: 'This isn't my world.'
"But when I take her out, she's in her element. She turns heads at every event we go to. I've had to tell a few people, and I'll mention no names, 'Back off, she's my mum."
