Hollyoaks hunk Ricky Whittle says he's lucky to have a co-star girlfriend who lets him smooch with other women on-screen.
The 27-year-old heart-throb has been involved in a string of steamy relationships with gorgeous women since joining the hit teen soap in 2006.
But handsome Ricky, who is dating actress Carley Stenson, says she understands about his romantic clinches unlike his former ex-girlfriends.
Ricky even admitted that his exes would get so jealous they would taunt him by threatening to retaliate by kissing other men.
Speaking from Chester Racecourse, Ricky said: "Me and Carley have been together for two and a half years now.
"And she is probably the longest relationship I've had.
"It has had longevity because she is in the same industry as me because we both understand each other's work.
"I've had long relationships before with girls who aren't actresses and they find it really difficult to understand my job.
"They get jealous because I'm with another girl even though it is only acting.
"And in a show like Hollyoaks, its hard not to have any storylines where a love interest wouldn't be involved.
"So that used to always cause arguments.
"They would turn round and say to me...'OK then I'm going out tonight and i'll kiss someone else'.
"And I would be like, 'No there is a big difference I have to kiss people as part of my job'.
"Eventually it would just cause a massive rift and we would end up arguing and splitting up."
Ricky, originally from Oldham, plays top cop Calvin Valentine in the Channel 4 drama and is currently married to ditzy blonde Carmel McQueen.
The TV couple married in an outrageous tacky wedding last year, but Ricky confessed he is happy when girlfriend Carley gets jealous of his telly marriage because it means he is acting well.
He said: "With Carley it is different, I'm actually hoping she gets jealous when she sees me on screen kissing and canoodling because it means I'm doing a good job.
"I want her to believe that I'm really in love with that other girl.
"The same goes for her. I tell her she is doing a good job on screen if I'm getting pangs of jealous watching her get close to other blokes."
And red-hot Ricky also let slip news of Calvin's latest love interest in the shape of a new sexy Irish siren, Bronagh Waugh.
He added: "I have got a new love interest coming up, she is a blonde Irish girl, she really tall, all boobs and legs.
"I love the Irish and she is really good fun to work with.
"So we will see how Carley handles this one."
