There was no reason for any of the audience members to be feeling blue, after a night with The Blue Man Group.

The trio's iconic look is known to millions all over the world, yet this was the first tour outside the capital where fans could witness for themselves their mesmerizing musicals talents.

The Blue Man Group's 'Megastar World Tour' follow the three characters as they embark on a journey of 'How to be a Megastar.'

And as the show unfolds, we learn the fundamental rules of how to become a rock star including being able to 'Headbob', 'Wave your hands' and 'Raise the Roof'.

While rule 43 advised a rock star name- "The less charismatic in the band might want to compensate with a name like The Edge, Slash or Scary Spice."

The audience were encourage to participate by waving their glowing mobile phones around in homage to the rock concerts of yester year, where it was typical for fans to shine their cigarette lighters.

The show was also given a real rock concert feel as the garish blue gents catapulted hundreds of guitars picks and drum sticks into the crowd.

And the music wasn't bad either, with Madonna's 'Like a Virgin', Van Hellen's 'Jump' and Donna Summer's- 'I Feel Love' all getting the BMG treatment.

It was an amazing and humorous show revolving around the three eccentric blue characters, and although they do not utter one word they perspire individuality.

With the combination of facial expressions, body movements, along with few things that you can easily find around your house, the blue men communicate scenes in the universal language of rhythm and sound.

They are constantly in motion, not only drumming and playing everything on stage but often wandering out into the crowd, dancing in the aisles with several excited audience members.

They challenge each other as they unify and layer beats that sort of make you forget they are making music from plastic tubing, small orange sticks, garbage cans and anything else they can get their hands on!

The incredible energy of these talented performers is contagious, and the audience were in raptures banging their feet and clapping their hands.

But my BMG experience didn't end there and I was one of the lucky few that were invited to meet the boys in blue backstage.

But unlike a true rock stars, who would be hounded with groupies and knocking back drink like it was going out of fashion...the blue men opted to stay in character and remained mute despite my best efforts to get them to unwind.

From what I could glean, the show was a resounding success, those who were will remember it for a long while, and word of mouth will serve these brilliant blue gents well next time.

Rating 8/10 Not to be missed
