Media mogul Simon Cowell had his own unique talent when he was a younster... polishing Jack Nicholson's axe for film 'The Shining'.
Cowell, who lived round the corner from Elstree Studios when he was a teenager worked as a runner on the classic horror movie.
And it was at the famous South London studios that multi-millionaire Simon, 49, first got his first taste of working in showbiz.
Older brother Tony says the starmaker did his share of humdrum tasks but he took great pride in cleaning crazy Jack's terrifying axe between takes.
Interviewed on the BBC 3 TV channel, half-brother Tony Cowell said: "Simon got his first taste of the entertainment business at Elstree Studios.
"It was only a stone's throw away from where we grew up.
"He did plenty of menial jobs in those days and he even worked as a runner on 'The Shining.'
"I well remember him saying he used to clean Jack Nicholson's axe in between takes for the most famous scenes.
"He took great pride in it, you could see your face in it, it was so shiny.
"It's a far cry from where he is now.
"I think the only thing he shines these days are his teeth."
