A Twitter message supposedly posted by Coleen Rooney confirming her pregnancy has been revealed as a scam.

An imposter posing as Coleen posted a message that read: "Yes, I can confirm that baby Rooney is on the way... isn't it exciting. Thank you everyone, for the lovely messages."

The phoney also claimed the baby would not be called 'anything weird'. But a spokesperson for the ASDA model, 22, said: "That's definitely not Coleen, it's a fake, she hasn't announced anything."

The hoax follows unconfirmed reports over the weekend the wife of Manchester United star Wayne Rooney, 23, is carrying the couple's first child.

Friends of the couple claimed the couple are 'absolutely thrilled, delighted and really excited' about a baby arriving in September

Kanye West, Emma Watson and David Bowie are among the others star to have fallen victims to false postings and profiles in in recent weeks.
