Ex-Hollyoaks actor Barry Sloane is asking his legion of local fans to support him in the forthcoming soap awards.
Barry, who played 'Niall Rafferty' in the hit teen soap has been nominated for five gongs including, sexiest male and villain of the year.
The Liverpudlian actor spent a year working as 'Niall', the long lost son of Myra McQueen whom she gave away when she was 14.
His Jekyll and Hyde character wreaked havoc on the residents of the Chester suburb before exiting in one of the most explosive scenes in the show's history.
Now, Barry who has also starred in Brookside, is asking for some backing so he can scoop one of the top awards.
Barry said:"It's been fantastic to have been nominated for so many awards.
"To even be in the same category as some of the screens' best actors is humbling.
"I had a great time working on Hollyoaks and it was brilliant to be involved with such a hard-hitting story line.
"I am going down to London with my girlfriend and my parents and we are just treating it as a good night out.
"But if I won an award at the end of it then it would mean the world to me.
"I need as many votes as I can get and lots of support.
"Getting an award would top off an amazing year for me."
