Pop singer Little Boots stumbled across a costume problem during a sell-out gig and had to make a Twitter appeal for a pair of black high heels.

The 20-year-old, who was dubbed BBC's 'Sound of 2009' forgot to pack her shoes for a sell-out gig at Manchester's Night-and-Day cafe.

Posting a panicked message Saturday afternoon to her 4,000 Twitter followers, the star wrote: "Shoe trauma!

"Anyone got size 3 black heels in Manchester and be willing to bring to night and day for guestlist and booze???"

And the Blackpool-born singer, real name Victoria Hesketh, was forced to deal with more than footwear problems as the night went on.

Things got from bad to worse as a mid-set power failure forced the singer to improvise with an impromptu a capella performance!

A source said: "Little Boots was really looking forward to the gig and couldn't wait to get on stage.

"But just an hour before being due on stage, she realised she had forgotten her shoes.

"It was all a bit frantic, staff were running around looking for some footwear and she was on Twitter begging someone to get her a pair of shoes.

"Thankfully a random fan saved the day and brought her a pair of high heels."

Fortunately, technical faults and a "wardrobe malfunction" weren't enough to throw her off song, as delighted fans were quick to praise the performance on her website as "absolutely fantastic."

Following her success in the UK, Little Boots jetted off to LA today in a bid to conquer the States.

Hopefully she's had some help with her packing this time!

Let's hope she doesn't get too big for her boots!
