Sultry soul diva Joss Stone performed a quiet gig at Liverpool's underground indie club The Picket, amid rumours her star is fading.

The pop singer, who became the youngest ever female to top the album charts in 2004, played to just 300 people in Liverpool and belted out hits such as Fell in Love with a Boy and Super Duper Love.

Just a few years ago scooped two BRITs, but her last album, Introducing Joss Stone, bombed in the UK.

Now tickets for her gigs in pubs and town halls cost as little as £15 and still the Got A Right To Be Wrong singer is finding it difficult to fill the tiny venues.

Tour organisers revealed the 21-year-old could not sell out in advance a 350-capacity bar in Manchester on Sunday night.

But just a day earlier unknown cover band Guns 2 Roses headlined at the same venue and filled it.

A music industry insider said: "Looks like Joss has lost it.

"She was being tipped as the new Aretha Franklin when she burst onto the scene as a teenager.

"She had a voice that people felt would keep her at the top for decades.

"But Joss hasn't done much commercially in the past year. Her popularity has dropped.

"I think she lost the public's affection when she returned from LA with a transatlantic drawl."
