Glamourous soccer WAG Abbey Clancy said she would reject a marriage proposal if lanky boyfriend Peter Crouch was to get down on one knee.
The sexy Scouser, who has been dating the Pompey star for four years is said to have stunned friends and family with her revelation - who were hoping to hear the sound of wedding bells.
Abbey 23, who is the face of Matalan lingerie says she would rather concentrate on her modelling career than a marriage.
And she doesn't want to jeopardise their loved-up relationship with talk of nuptials.
The blonde beauty said: "If Peter popped the question, I'd say 'no'.
"Pete and I are just so happy as we are at the moment, I don't want to spoil that.
"Because we are in the public eye, people keeping putting pressure on us to get married.
"I've got loads of work coming up this year and I just want to concentrate on my career.
"Hopefully it will happen one day, but we're fine for the forseeable future."
But one of Abbey's pals revealed that the model's nearest and dearest all had their fingers crossed to see the glamorous couple engaged.
She added: "Abbey and Peter are so happy at the moment and they have been living together for a while now.
"The next stage in their relationship would be an engagement and I think everyone was secretly hoping that he would make an honest woman of her.
"But Abbey is determined to make it big as a model and just wants to focus on her work.
"She really enjoyed her time modelling in the States and would love to go back there one day."
