This Morning host Phillip Schofield is so addicted to the networking site Twitter that he sends out dozens of updates while he's supposed to be working.

Phil boasts and impressive 18,000 followers keeping tabs on is activities and he regularly adds updates to keep his hoards of fans in tune with his moods and movements.

But the silver haired housewive's favourite was targeted by ex-Blue Peter presenter Richard Bacon for 'tweeting' while he is on air.

The former children's TV presenter told Something for the Weekend viewers that he commented on one of Phil's updates about why he was Twittering when he should be at work.

Instantly Bacon received thousands of messages from his online fans desperate to find out what Schofield replied.

Bacon said: "It went crazy.

"I noticed that Phil was updating his Twitter when This Morning was still on air so I typed in a comment.

"He must have been doing it whenever there was an add break or the camera was pointing the other way.

"After I posted the comment it all went mental.

"There were people commenting on me, commenting on Phil who was commenting about people on his show.

"He must have updated his page about a dozen times throughout the show.

"Phil is so popular, I think he even crashed the Twitter site once after telling people he used it.

"I'm always on it like Phil. It's very addictive."
