City celebrities launched the Liverpool Community College “shop” at Liverpool One on Saturday.
Hollyoaks stars Stephanie Davis and Steven Roberts famous for playing Sinead O’Connor and George Smith, were joined by pop star Chelcee Grimes, to officially open the College “shop.”
The new store will provide the College with a presence in the city centre’s commercial district and offers a convenient way for prospective students to drop in for career advice and find out more about the College, what courses are on offer and how to apply.
During the launch city shoppers got the chance to meet and chat to the Hollyoaks stars and Chelcee. There were also free gifts and makeovers on offer, along with a “science workshop.”
Elaine Bowker, Principal of Liverpool Community College said: “The launch was a huge success, with lots of people coming to mix with the Hollyoaks stars and also find out a bit more about what Liverpool Community College has to offer.
“Our goal is to make learning as accessible to everyone as possible and help develop a skilled workforce in the city; the shop is part of that strategy. By having a presence in the retail centre of the city we are making it as easy as possible for potential students to get the training and advice they need to have a successful career.”
