The General Manager of Jurys Inn Liverpool has revealed it is hard work keeping the Labour Party Conference delegates happy at breakfast time.

Jerry Pribil has a team of chefs starting as early as 5am to prepare bacon, eggs, toast, meat-free sausages and croissants for up to 450 party members.

Mr Pribil, 43, who held a managerial position at The Mirage in Las Vegas, laughed: "We have a chef 24 hours a day, of course not the same one.

"The preparation for breakfast starts very early because we have such a wide variety on offer. Three of our chefs prepare meals to be ready for service at 6am.

"The Labour Party guests have usually come down to the dining rooms around 7:30 to 8 o'clock and the high profile members of the Labour Party, including the top man Mr Miliband, has given really good feedback.

"They say to me, 'you know, Jerry, honestly anything we wanted or anything we would have liked we have it and it's really good'."

"The perfect kind of service is when the guests don't have to ask for anything."

Mr Pribil started his career in guest services 20 years ago after completing a degree in Hospitality Administration.

He moved to San Diego to begin his career at Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts then Loews Hotels in Los Angeles, before returning to The Mirage in Las Vegas.

But Liverpool has recieved special recognition from the globe-trotting hotelier as a city that can rival even Las Vegas in terms of what it has to offer.

He said: "To be part of an amazing management team without Liverpool being an amazing location and destination would make operating successful hotel operations very difficult.

"We have recruited 30 additional employees, including some students from Hugh Baird College and four more food and beverage outlets outside the hotel - where some delegates have been out late enjoying this lovely weather we are having."

Liverpool is playing host to the conference from 26- 29 September for the first time since 1925. More than 11,000 delegates a day have congregated in the ACC in the ECHO Arena on Kings Dock.
