Dingle has been given a major spring clean thanks to volunteers taking part in European Neighbours Day.
About 60 people helped to improve the look and facilities of the area including the creation of a new picnic area on Riverside Drive.
During the day the volunteers and partner agencies collected 100 full bags of litter from the streets, removed fly-tipping from grot spots and cleaned up dog fouling hot spots.
The railings along the Grafton Cliffs were given a coat of paint and hanging baskets throughout the area were replenished and community planters spruced up.
Eight community skips were provided for residents to dispose of bulky waste.
There was also a crackdown on anti-social behaviour, with two people facing prosecution for allowing their dogs to foul and another will be prosecuted for dropping litter.
Councillor Steve Munby, city council cabinet member for neighbourhoods, took part in the effort.
He said: “This was a real community effort from people who live and work in the area showing that they have pride in their neighbourhood.
“Dingle is cleaner and brighter because of their efforts. They really have proved to be good neighbours.”
Among those taking part or supporting the day were city council members and officers in Environmental Services, Liverpool Housing Trust, Jigsaw Neighbourhood Services, Liverpool Mutual Homes, Riverside Housing Group, Plus Dane Group, Merseyside Police, Enterprise Liverpool, Your Place, Lovell’s, HCA, Tesco and McDonald’s.
