Liverpool legend Sir Paul McCartney will marry for the third time after proposing to New York heiress Nancy Shevell.
The pop legend, 68, has proposed to the 51-year-old stunner after a four-year romance.
The romantic former Beatle is said to have got down on one knee in New York last weekend to pop the question.
A close friend told the Daily Mirror: “She said yes immediately – it was a complete no-brainer. The pair of them are head over heels in love and plan to wed as soon as possible.
“Paul’s children are absolutely delighted for him.”
The friend added: “Nancy chose not to wear the ring because they’d only told a few friends and family and didn’t want it to become public knowledge too soon.”
Nancy and Paul, worth an estimated £495million, have not yet set a date for the wedding.
Nancy is said to have a good relationship with Paul’s children – Heather, 48, Mary, 41, Stella, 39, James, 33, and Beatrice, seven.
Sir Paul married first wife Linda in 1969, who died of breast cancer in 1998.
He then wed former model Heather Mills in 2002.
But the marriage ended badly after the pair separated in May 2006 and were divorced in 2008 after an acrimonious court battle and £24million settlement.
